After the enrolment in the course, the candidate is given a unique username and password to access the course. The candidate needs to log in to the website in order to access the course and complete the assignment. With this unique facility, the candidate can interact with the instructor while pursuing the course and can also interact with the other students and participate in the discussion forum. Candidates can learn from the video lectures also. This elaborate teacher training program takes one month to be completed.

50 hours of Teaching Practice

While pursuing the 170 hours course, the candidate will have an opportunity for 50 hours of teaching practice session. It plays an important role to boost endless confidence and prepare the candidate from global classroom with skill and credibility. It helps the candidate to get an overview of the real classroom and get prepared accordingly.

Asian College of Teachers encourages the candidates to avail this teaching practice session during the course hours as an immediate practice is the time to polish whatever one is learning. It can provide endless rooms to rectify mistakes and become a complete teacher in near future.

How it Works

STEP 1:Completion of registration form for enrollment and course fee payment (PayPal or credit card)

STEP 2:Automated confirmation message will be received along with the receipt.

STEP 3: Access will be given to personal ACT student area from where course material can be downloaded and be connected with tutor.

While pursuing this TEFL / TESOL certification course, Asian College of Teachers offers an opportunity of 50 hours of teaching practice. These practice sessions allow students to gain first-hand experience of EFL teaching with a real classroom setting, tutoring a non-native speaker privately. Asian College of Teachers encourages students to complete these hours during the course. Completing the practicum hours during the course allows the student to immediately practice what they are learning in the online class. Students get an additional 30 days after the course is finished to complete the practicum hours.

Practicum Locations: Opportunities to complete your practicum can typically be arranged in your community in these types of venues:

Yes. You must have citizenship from the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa. Korean Immigration will only process English teaching work visas for these 7 nationalities.

CAN I TAKE THIS COURSE IF I’M NOT A NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER?

No. This course is designed for teaching English in South Korea as schools there tend to hire native English speakers only.

CAN I TAKE THIS COURSE WITHOUT PREVIOUS TEACHING EXPERIENCE?

Yes. You can enroll for this course without any previous experience.

CAN I TAKE THIS COURSE WITHOUT A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY DEGREE?

No. Having a bachelor's degree from the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, NZ or SA is mandatory to get hired in South Korea for a teaching job.

IS THIS COURSE 'SELF-TAUGHT' OR IS IT LED BY AN INSTRUCTOR?

The online component is self-taught with a complete tutor support. Students can complete the course & exams at their own pace.

HOW MUCH CONTACT & SUPPORT WILL I HAVE WITH MY INSTRUCTOR ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS?

This course is written in British English but well developed for Americans, Canadians, British, Irish, Australians, New Zealanders and South Africans. Assignments can be submitted in both American and British English.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I FAIL THE COURSE?

Trainees, who fail to meet the minimum requirement for successful completion, will not receive the respective certification. Trainees can't progress with the course until passing each module. Tutors give proper support to the trainees to ensure maximum chances of success.

HOW WILL MY WORK BE ASSESSED?

ACT tutors are thorough and meticulous when it comes to the assessment technique and evaluation process. Their assessment communicates useful information to the trainees. They appreciate each trainee's strengths and accomplishments not forgetting to point out the significant points where the trainees need to work on. They evaluate on the basis of varied parameters.

WHEN WOULD I RECEIVE THE TEFL CERTIFICATE?

You will receive the certificate within maximum 8-10 days from your submission of final assignment. Few days of time will be required to assess your assignment.

IS THERE A FEE FOR A HARDCOPY OF THE CERTIFICATE?

Yes. You need to pay extra amount if you want a hardcopy of the TEFL certificate. The hardcopy of the certificate is completely optional as you will receive an electronic copy for free.

Note: Electronic TEFL / TESOL certificates are widely accepted by most overseas schools and employers.

WILL I RECEIVE JOB SEARCH AND PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE?

Yes. Asian College of Teachers provides job assistance along with personal CV advice, and information regarding teaching in Korea and contacts for experiences EPIK recruiting agencies. They will also let you know when schools contact them looking for graduates through their regular magazine E-Global.

WHEN CAN I BEGIN APPLYING FOR TEACHING JOBS?

You can begin applying for TEFL teaching jobs in Korea anytime after completion of the course. Some teaching programs, such as EPIK, offer positions with the understanding that you are currently enrolled in a TEFL course that will be completed before the job contract begins.

ARE THERE ANY SOFTWARE OR INTERNET REQUIREMENTS?

Yes. You must have access to a computer that has an internet connection and a modern web browser (Chrome, Explorer, Safari, Firefox or other).

PRICING & PAYMENT

This course is available in USD. Your local currency price is also displayed in addition to the USD price for reference purposes only. There are no additional fees.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

The course fee is non-refundable.

TRANSFER POLICIES

When a student is unable to begin the course, he/she can transfer into a new course date or into a different TEFL Certification course that is offered by Asian College of Teachers. A student can transfer courses maximum of 2 times. Student must pay course transfer fee in order to reserve his/her spot in new course.

TRANSFER FEES

A student who is enrolled in the Asian College of Teachers online TEFL class can transfer to another online TEFL Course. The following transfer terms apply:

No Transfer Fee - Transfer to another online TEFL Certification Course before 15 days or more from the current course enrolled in.

$100.00 Transfer Fee – Transfer to another online TEFL Certification Course before 1 to 14 days from the current course enrolled in.

$250.00 Transfer Fee – Transfer to another online TEFL Certification Course on or after course start date of the current course.

REFUND & TRANSFER PROCESS

If any student needs cancel, withdraw or transfer enrollment from the course due to any reason, a student must notify Asian College of Teachers in writing. It can be Email, Fax or Certified letter.

POSTPONING A COURSE BY ASIAN COLLEGE OF TEACHERS

If the course is postponed or delayed by Asian College of Teachers the following terms apply:

Student will have the option to transfer into another in class course of equal or greater value. Student will not have to pay a course transfer fee. If a delay in the start of a course exceeds 14 days, the student may elect to receive a full course refund.

USE OF STUDENT LIKENESS

Student acknowledges and agrees that Asian College of Teachers may record student's likeness or comments before, during or after a course. Student consents to the use of student's likeness (whether photographed, filmed, and/or videotaped) and comments or any portion of such in any manner developed now or in the future.

  • ACT TEFL courses are accredited by the world's largest TESOL accreditation body TESOL Canada & TESOL USA
  • Certificate can be Notarized, Apostle, Attested by Embassy in Ottawa or Washington at extra charges
  • "Online" is not mentioned in the certificates

The candidates will receive a globally recognized certificate awarded jointly by TESOL Canada and Asian College of Teachers (ACT) on successful completion of Certificate TEFL course. The candidates can also avail an additional certificate from College of Birmingham (COB) at an extra cost. Additionally, all Asian College of Teachers (ACT) TEFL Courses have been accredited by TESOL Canada - an international association of educators, TESOL teachers, TESOL instructors, TESOL graduates, Board of Federal Directors and Provincial Representatives across Canada with both national and international representatives. TESOL Canada programs are approved by the Ministry of Employment, Human Resources Development Canada HRDC, and authenticated through Ministry of Foreign Affairs for international use.

TESOL Canada is the registered founding member of TESOL Québec, TESOL Ontario and TESOL British Columbia. Internationally TESOL Canada is an associated member of TESOL U.S.A., TESOL European Union EUTA, TESOL Asia, TESOL Middle East and TESOL South America. ALL ACT TESOL / TEFL Certificate approved by TESOL Canada & TESOL U.S.A and certified through the Canadian Government. The certificate awarded has an extra advantage as the word "Online" will not be mentioned in the certificates. Shipment of certificates cost USD 35 Generally after the submission of all the assignments and completion of the course, the candidates need to pay the dispatch fee. After that the institute takes the respective shipping address and contact number of the candidate to courier the certificate.
