Montessori Method of education developed by Italian physician and educator Dr Maria Montessori basically fosters and emphasizes the children’s natural drive to learn. The Montessori teaching has gained huge popularity over the years and there are thousands of Montessori schools scattered around the world. There is still very much a demand for Montessori Method of teaching among the schools in India as well. Montessori schools mushrooming with every passing day there has been a steady requirement of trained Montessori teachers with a lot of openings for teaching jobs in India.

A Montessori classroom should always be humming with various activities like one could hear children’s voices along with sounds of music and chimes, clacking of blocks and clinking of bells. The children are not confined to their desks but continuously move around engrossed in their own activities. The teacher has to follow each student by record keeping and slowly guiding each child’s research and exploration about a subject. Montessori Method encourages teachers to be “guide on the side” and not the “sage on the stage”. So as a Montessori teacher one needs to be a constant guide for children and cultivate the qualities of reticence and restraint. This proves the fact that teachers who are planning to be Montessori teachers must undergo proper training because Montessori is a highly effective and child centric method of education. According to Dr Maria Montessori education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by human individuals. Therefore, it is the Montessori teacher’s job is to provide the environment which will aid responsibility and cooperation. So becoming a certified Montessori teacher is absolutely necessary.
